Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Ottawa Unveils Immersive Audio System Powered by 1 SOUND
The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Ottawa, Canada, has unveiled a state-of-the-art audio system designed to deliver high-quality sound experiences across its complex spaces. The system, installed by AV integration specialists Branch AV and project consultant NV5, features 1 SOUND's Cannon C6 marine speakers and Level L38 loudspeakers, chosen for their marine-grade durability, audio quality, and coverage design.
Inside the hotel, the Council Oak Stage—designed for small bands, dueling pianos, and other live acts—is equipped with the Level L38 loudspeakers, which are less than eight inches off the wall. These speakers, paired with a hidden SUB310 subwoofer, provide the necessary SPL and punch for live music while blending seamlessly into the space. To preserve the upscale restaurant feel on quieter nights, discreet Level L38 loudspeakers have been installed.
On the exterior of the hotel, 25 Cannon C6 speakers, color-matched to the building, have been installed to create a high-energy introduction. These speakers, part of 1 SOUND’s Cannon series, are saltwater resistant and IP55 rated, making them well suited for outdoor and marine environments. The Cannon C6 speakers are equipped with custom-painted C-Clamps and outdoor-rated hardware, ensuring their durability in Ottawa's diverse weather conditions.
The Cannon C6 speakers offer quality sound in a small box for their output, making them ideal for music playback. Their wide dispersion patterns enable more even audio coverage, minimizing dead zones even in challenging spaces. The speakers are frequently deployed as pendant speakers or hanging units, providing installation flexibility for optimal coverage.
Clair Global collaborated with Branch AV to execute the audio system integration for the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Ottawa. The system was designed to perform at Hard Rock's global standards without overwhelming the space. To maintain the aesthetic, a SUB310 subwoofer has been hidden in the ceiling of the Council Oak Stage. Each Level L38 loudspeaker inside the Council Oak Stage is matched precisely to the wall for a clean look.
