Air Canada has announced that its planes will once again take to the skies after a complete interruption that began on Saturday. The ramp-up for the main North American routes will "truly" begin on Wednesday morning, with the company initially focusing on resuming international flights departing.

The airline expects it will take seven to ten days to return to full regular service due to planes and crews not being in their proper positions. Air Canada and the union representing its flight attendants have reached a tentative agreement, ending the strike that began on Saturday.

In a statement, Air Canada's spokesperson, Christophe Hennebelle, said the company will look at the market conditions at the time of purchasing the replacement flight to verify that the traveler has indeed chosen the most reasonable option. The refund policy applies to clients whose flights were cancelled between August 15 and August 23.

To be eligible for a refund, the client's initial flight must have been officially cancelled by Air Canada and the company must not have been able to rebook them on another flight. Travelers who have turned to other means of transport (bus, ferry, car rental) to reach their destination will also be able to get a refund.
